Below are the links to various resources related to disability services. All of these files are either in the form of a Microsoft Word document, a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, or a .pdf. To download the required software to view .pdfs, visit the Adobe Acrobat Reader website. If you do not have Microsoft PowerPoint installed on your computer, you can download a small program to view presentations from Microsoft's website.

Materials from the June 2010 Meeting

Irene Bowen, of ADA One, presented a 3-part workshop on June 15th. PDFs of her presentations: A NEW DAY FOR THE ADA? Bullet Tom Heffron of the Wisconsin Technical College System has provided us with an updated link to the new Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Guide for WTCS Staff (2009-PDF). The Guide was developed and composed thru a two year effort by a workgroup consisting of disability services representatives from the Wisconsin technical colleges, the Autism Society of WI, and the WTCS Office. Staff from WI Dept. of Public Instruction and others also provided expertise and assistance for the Guide.

The Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law has released a model policy to help colleges and universities develop a non-discriminatory, non-punitive approach to students in crisis because of mental health problems. The document offers a response to serious mental health problems among college and university students and schools' lack of consensus on what to do when such students are in crisis. It is available as a free download at http://www.bazelon.org/pdf/SupportingStudents.pdf

First presented at the June meeting in Canandaigua, this survey seeks to collect information about office structures, staffing, and director salaries. Please complete only once.
